Ford OBS 05+ Axle Swap Kit

The fit and finish is excellent along with the welding. I have zero complaints there. If your truck is 2wd you need to ignore the current directions. I just looked today and it still shows wrong info. It tells you to measure and drill all holes. He has updated the design for 2wd trucks. There are a couple of holes that line up that you have to enlarge then drill the rest. Same with the radius arm brackets. The directions DO NOT reflect this. Also the holes the kit uses for the sway bar put my end links into the springs. I had to move the bracket forward and re-drill. Im not sure if this is a 2wd specific issue or a stock height issue. Another issue I had is that the instructions tell you to put the trac bar bracket as high as possible on the engine cradle. I did this and the track bar was hitting the engine cradle. My 33x12.5 tires were rubbing so I ended up buying the 2" level springs on the website. That took care of my trac bar issue. If you follow the directions and want to run stock lift/tires the engine cradle lip will need to be notched for clearance. If you know your way around a wrench and have done fab work before you can figure it out. But someone is going to have a really bad day if they drill all those holes only to realize the instructions no longer match the 2wd kits. luckily I only drilled 2 holes and realized the bucket were way off center and called to see what was going on. Im still happy with the kit but there seems to be some refinement needed for the 2WD trucks.

Made the 08 axel swap a breeze. Well built kit and great instructions and customer service. Everything bolted up as it should. Biggest pain is removal of old suspensions components and brackets. The fact that this kit utilizes most of the existing holes on the frame makes alignment super easy for install. Highly recomend it. Had some question and reached out on the phone. I was surprised to have someone answer on Saturday afternoon and have all the right answers to my concerns. That alone is worth the price.

IPlanning on just buying the trac bar and using everything from my donor truck to swap my 2wd OBS, but once I started cutting rivets off I decided to just buy the brackets and they made life so easy. I had to drill lots of holes in my frame to make it work, but he has since addressed this by making a 2wd kit after I’ve done the swap on my. Everything is super well constructed and looks great as well. The biggest thing is how easy it made the swap.

I took my time and worked on it for a little bit at a time over the winter but could absolutely be done in a weekend if you’ve got everything prepped and don’t have to run to town to grab things and wait on paint to dry.

I used 2.5” leveling springs for a superduty, with 2” lift shocks for a superduty. 4” OBS factory f350 rear blocks on the 2wd rear OBS leaf pack.

I used the brake lines off the donor truck, with the few fittings and adaptor ujoints + flange Joel recommended.
